Meet Dr. Petras
Stephen Petras DMD, MAGD, FICOI is director of the Stockton Dental Center where he has been practicing dentistry since 1987. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Loyola University and earned his dental degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 1986. Since that time, he has acquired over 1200 hours of continuing dental education encompassing all areas of dentistry, including over 400 hours dedicated to hands –on skills and techniques.
Dr. Petras received his fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2014, his Mastership Award in 2006 and his Life Long Service Recognition 2016 from the Academy of General Dentistry. These awards are the highest honor available in the AGD and one of the most respected designations in the profession. Dr. Petras is also a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, Grant Dental Society, International Association of Orthodontics, American Association of Implant Dentistry and is currently serving as President of the Northern Illinois Academy of General Dentistry and Past President of the Illinois Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Petras and his wife Jamie have two children, Rhiannon and Kirstyn. He enjoys and spends much of his free time restoring his Victorian home and relaxing with his family.
